Zoe-perry
Perry was born July 25, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as seen by flashback) Her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. Her parents, however, were not keen to let her pursue acting until she became an adult fearing the effect of stress. Perry states that she did not want to perform in highschool but decided to start acting as a social activity at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. Perry managed to get minor TV roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent following her graduation. However, her homesickness led her to California again where she began to work on stage. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. Perry was in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie, along with Kevin McKidd. This was staged at West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry was in nine episodes of the ABC drama The Family in 2016. Her father portrayed her in the ABC Drama Scandal. In the same year, she played a young character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) in which she played her mother in a youthful version. Despite her family link to the character she got the role via an audition.
